Glued to the Idea

Four Wisconsin women are accused of luring a man to a hotel under false pretenses. The married man believed he met one of his girlfriends for a little fun. He allowed her to bind him to the bed and blindfold him in preparation for a “rub down”. Instead of massaging him, the woman allegedly cut off his underwear and texted the other girlfriend, her sister, and his wife to enter the room. At that point, the man was assaulted and his penis glued to his stomach.

Seriously? Who does this?

I swear, the more I watch the news, the more I wonder what this world is coming to. However, a part of me thinks this might make a good romantic suspense story some day.

Where do you get ideas for your stories?

  1. I don't get those kinds of stories! How does a person put himself in that situation? What happens to a woman to make her do something like that? What goes through the other womens' minds to get them to participate? What a story to get yourself thinking about the minds of your characters (unfortunately in this case - real people).

  2. I can't understand any of them doing that! The wife had a motive, but even then! And then the other women didn't even have a motive. Maybe general revenge? Wow... What has happened to people?

  3. Oh, just read the article. I guess he was sleeping with all of them. Seriously, how does one go from thinking you love someone to doing that to them! But, you are right...good story fodder, I suppose. Truth is stranger than fiction at times.

  4. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned....

If he had a wife and more than one girlfriend...he most certainly had this coming!! LOL!! I'm guessing he promised the girlfriend he would leave his wife and marry her and obviously didn't keep his promise! Love and jealousy make you do crazy things sometimes...if this woman was head over heels in love...and he was jerking her around...well.....

Sometimes things I see/hear inspire a story idea.

  5. I suppose I'm neither that vengeful or creative to come up with an idea like that, regardless of how angry I am. Interesting story fodder, but a little bit over the top, even for reality! Don't tick piss off those ladies!

  6. That's um, wow. I get my ideas from a lot of sources over a course of years or months. And they came very very slowly. It's frustrating!

This is an interesting story and goes to show how messed up BOTH sides can be. It would be great for some tension in a novel. :)

  7. Oh, but I was going to say I'd never use the ACTUAL story in a novel. More than likely, it would just spark another idea. I'd hate to use someone else's humiliation for my entertainment. Yikes!

  8. Sounds like an updated version of Stephen King's Misery!

Ideas are everywhere at every second. Sometimes they bombard me, so I'm glad I write poetry too.

  9. Lady Glamis: That's the fun part of fiction, you can use a real story and twist it whatever way you like. ;)

  10. Wow. Truth IS stranger than fiction. Lol.

I get my ideas from all over the place. I people-watch and event-watch, and if something catches my eye and sparks my interest, I'll write about it.

  11. Holy wow! How disturbing. Definitely a good idea for a story, but I think it'd be moreso if it hadn't actually happened. What were those women thinking? (Actually, I know what they were thinking, but to go through with it? Cripes.)

  12. just saw the news story on that myself. i thought the same thing. who DOES that? who thinks to themselves that gluing a man's private part to his stomach is a viable way to get revenge (or insert another motive here). crazy. but i would be lying if i said i didn't get some of my ideas from things like this (just NOT this). :)

  13. Well, I must say I found the whole thing rather funny. As long as he wasn't really hurt. (I am assuming they can unglue a penis from a stomach.)

And he was not exactly innocent.

  14. I get my ideas from everywhere. From tv shows, movies, the news, people at work, the grocery store, sitting in the Verizon store waiting my turn...oh, that one gave me a character I can't wait to use!

    Anywhere I can people watch.
