You might think you’ve joined enough writing groups and can’t handle one more. Well, before that’s your final decision, I suggest you check out www.savvyauthors.com. This site is crazy-good for writers. It’s only $30 a year, but the benefits are enormous (and no, I don’t get paid for saying this.)
I stumbled across this wonderful site last week when I was reading workshops available for March. One that interested me was offered through Savvy Authors. I jumped over there to sign up. However, once I checked out the site, I decided it was worth my time and money to join. Here are a few benefits I’ve discovered so far:
-Free writers’ boot camps
-Blog tour wizard
-Auto-critter (more on this later)
-Tons of book raffles
Although I haven’t tried the auto-critter tool, I’m so excited about it. Basically, you paste a page, chapter, or the whole manuscript into the space provided and the auto-critter will find the weak and overused words. It underlines these words in the text, but also gives you a percentage tally, so you know how many of these words should be replaced. Tres cool.
So, hop on over and check out Savvy Authors. You don’t have to become a member to take the workshops, but I’d recommend it. The class that starts today is: Goal Hunters: Revealing the Real Story Stakes and Motives by Raquel Rodriguez. Fun, fun, fun. I’m all signed up and ready to start.
